Autumn Apple Inspiration Board

Fall is that exciting time of year when there is a sense of electricity in the air that seems to radiate around everything.  The air is crisp, the leaves are changing colors, the weather is getting cooler and there is nothing better than curling up with a warm mug of apple cider.  Of course we couldn't help but put together this darling apple inspiration board in celebration of the season.  Chop full of charming details, how cute would your wedding reception be if it was hosted at an apple orchard?  Hand out personalized apple bags and allow guests to pick their own apples to take home as fall wedding favors.  Love it.

Pretty Picnic Wedding ~ A Red Picnic Wedding Themed Inspiration Board

Cherry Pie
With the lovely weather lately, we can’t help but daydream of a blanket spread on the grass, and the sun shining down on a perfect picnic.  For the laid-back or outdoor-loving couple, a picnic themed wedding may be just the thing.  Your picnic wedding could be as fancy or relaxed as you want.  We love bold, bright reds paired with hay bale seating or elegant round tables.  Use plain red or patterned tablecloths, and simple flower arrangements. Keep your guests satisfied with signature red cocktails and strawberry shortcake in red-and-white checkered paper cartons.  When it comes time to eat, each guest can choose an adorable boxed meal with a menu printed on a sticker on the front of the box.

Plaid Flower Girl Dress with Christmas Muff
Thank you for joining us for the eleventh edition of our 12 Days of Weddings blog series.  We've had so much fun bringing you holiday wedding inspiration for each of the 12 Days of Christmas.  It's hard to believe we only have one more inspiration board left.

For this holiday collage, we've pulled from the legendary 11 Pipers Piping to bring you a warm and inviting board inspired by all things tartan.  I love the idea of a traditional plaid Christmas wedding and I'm so excited to be able to bring this inspiration to life.  Doesn't the combination just give you that warm and fuzzy holiday feeling?

12 Days of Weddings - 9 Ladies Dancing Wedding Inspiration Board

Red Ballet Flats
We are down to the 9th installment of our 12 Days of Weddings, where we are showcasing holiday inspiration for each of the 12 Days of Christmas.  For this romantic take on 9 Ladies Dancing, we've pulled inspiration from the wonderful world of ballet and added a Christmas twist.

When you combine the beautiful lines of the ballet with the romantic nature of weddings, you are bound to have created an enchanting affair full of feminine details and beautiful accents.  Add in some deep shades of red and sparkling gold for a holiday twist that feels rich and lavish.

12 Days of Weddings - Eight Maids a Milking - Inspiration Board

It's time for our eighth installment in our 12 Days of Weddings blog series! I can't believe there are only four more episodes to go before Christmas. We have been having so much fun creating wedding inspiration boards based on the famous 12 Days of Christmas carol. This latest version is just as delightful.

We wanted to get creative with our "Eight Maids A Milking" theme, so we decided to pretend that those eight little maids finished their milking, churned the milk into butter, and then did a whole bunch of baking. They then hosted a milk and cookies theme wedding reception with a vintage red and white color scheme. Luckily we were on hand to capture the moment and preserve it for posterity with a lovely image collage.

All make-believe aside, the milk and cookies reception is a favorite theme of ours. The red and white color scheme manages to convey a holiday feeling while still tying in the milk-and-cookies theme. We love the way the striped paper straws accent the glass milk bottles perfectly. Kitschy little favor boxes shaped like old-school milk cartons are another fabulous idea. (You can even download a free printable milk carton box pattern here.) The rest of the theme comes together with vintage accents like metal milk pails, a lovely red barn as part of your venue, and red and white wedding accessories.

Without further ado, we hope you enjoy the playful interpretation that we like to call "Eight Maids a Milking... and Then Baking Some Cookies."

12 Days of Weddings - Four Calling Birds

Four Calling Birds Christmas Card
We are excited to reveal the newest edition in our 12 Days of Weddings blog series, featuring inspirations drawn from Day Four of the famous 12 Days of Christmas song. A fun little known fact about this verse is that it originally named four colly birds, not four calling birds. In other words, the original quartet of birdies consisted of simple blackbirds. While we love the cheeky little Christmas card (shown to the left) that plays off the more well-known phrasing of the song, our main set of images features colly bird silhouettes and vintage style in keeping with the original verse. Enjoy!

12 Days of Weddings...A Partridge in a Pear Tree

12 Days of Wedding Inspiration...A Partridge in a Pear Tree
It is just starting into the fall season here.  The air is crisp and the nights beckon for a warm cup of apple cider.  It's around this time of year that I begin to think of the coming holiday season and long for the sounds Bing Crosby to fill the room.  Since it is way too early to start playing Christmas music (and doing so might send people running for the nearest exit), I will just have to live vicariously through all of you. (cue sly chuckle...hee hee hee)

With that said, we are so excited to announce the start of our 12 Days of Weddings.  Leading up to Christmas, we will present to you our favorite holiday wedding ideas and inspiration for each of the twelve days of Christmas.  Come back next week to see what else we have in store for our 12 Days of Weddings and to see other great holiday ideas.

All is Fair in Love and Weddings....A Country Fair Wedding

Ferris wheel couple

Maybe it's my 4-H and county fair background or the fact that I'm excited about going to the Ohio State Fair this weekend, but I just can't stop fawning over the idea of having a country fair themed wedding. August is here, which means the end of summer is near, and fair season is commencing! A country fair wedding is perfect for those couples who are looking for a casual, rustic and playful way to celebrate their wedding day. Get inspired by checkered table cloths, colorful balloons and fabric pennant garlands. Set up a kissing booth or other fair games to keep guests entertained. Use fair tickets as place cards or drink ticket vouchers. And don't forget about the most important aspect of any fair...the food! Serve your favorite fried delights, from corn dogs and cheese sticks to mini elephant ears and cotton candy cocktails. A country fair wedding isn't for everyone, but you can't deny how fun these photos are! Take a look and get inspired, and while your at it hit your local county fair and grab that funnel cake you've been day dreaming about!

Our Favorite Things - Aqua. Red, and Brown Paper Packaging

I know I'm not the only one who is obsessed with the modern look of aqua and red paired with cute and kitschy stripes or polka dots. Add in the warm tones and textures of brown kraft paper to get a look with a modern - meets - nostalgic feel that has event planners and bloggers swooning. I've compiled some of my favorite ideas to inspire your aqua and red themed party. Pay special attention to the coordinating personalized party supplies, adorable french fry tray, and striped straws in glass bottles.

Refreshing Red and Coral Inspiration Board

I just love the idea of using a tomato red mixed with a coral for spring and summer wedding colors.  The mix is so refreshing.  The red adds a bit of vibrancy while the coral brings in a softer more airy feel.  Check out some of our fave pics below for a little inspiration on this trendsetting palette:

Wedding Inspirations and Ideas for Fall

These beautiful styleboards were inspired from our fave fall wedding ideas. We love the idea of infusing nature into an autumn themed wedding with pops of orange and red. Popular shades for this year are spice and cranberry. These warm tones add a cozy element and look great in photos! Add splashes of green and brown with muted yellow accents to pull the look together.
Fall Wedding Theme

Halloween is the perfect wedding theme for adventurous brides looking to add the unexpected. As luck would have it, this daring holiday falls on a Saturday this year. Now how perfect is that! To pull your Halloween theme off without going overboard, bring in elements like the ones shown below.
