Rustic Elegance Fall Wedding in the Catskills

Jamine and James set off to create an amazingly fun, family-centric celebration - and goodness, did they deliver! You can just feel their joy radiating from the photos of their special day, skillfully captured by Sherry Sutton Photography. It was quite the action-packed day for guests, with the wedding ceremony in New Jersey and the reception about two hours away in the Catskills of New York.

Their touching wedding ceremony was held at the bride's home church amidst all of their family and friends. Jamine walked down the aisle with her mother and father, looking beyond beautiful in her mermaid-style lace gown. The smile on the groom's face is priceless when he sees his bride coming towards him. After a bubble-send off these newlyweds and their guests headed off to their tented outdoor reception.

The fall-inspired reception was held on the groom's family property, where they had transformed a wide open field into a wedding venue with gorgeous views! They brought in a large white tent, tables with linens, a bar, DJ, and portable restrooms to cater to guests. The groom even custom built a trellis and fire pits as a wedding surprise to the bride, which brought her to tears when she saw them. The bride's family is Latin, so the evening was filled with Latin music and dancing - and lots and lots of love and laughter.

After the sun went down, the fire pits were lit and everyone made s'mores from the kits the bride and groom had made for their guests as favors.

Fall Themed Weddings

It may seem to soon to think about falling leaves and the smell of crisp fall air but not if you're planning a fall themed wedding now is the perfect time to start making your plans.

Fall themed weddings are my favorite of all weddings. I love the colors of fall, such as green, orange, red and brown. Mix in some gold, copper and bronze to add drama.

Fall is also the perfect time of the year for an outdoor wedding, when it is not too hot or too cold. A fall outdoor wedding or outdoor reception can utilize all the wonderful natural things about the fall, like pumpkins, gourds, straw, corn stalks, apple cider etc.

You can make beautiful table centerpieces just by using the natural items that are available in the fall. Hollow out pumpkins or gourds to hold beautiful fall flowers such as daisies, sunflowers or mums. Add fall fruit to your center pieces such as apples, cranberries or pears.

When you’re thinking menu, think comfort food. Turkey, red potatoes, cornbread dressing and all the fixings are perfect for your fall themed wedding. For a beverage serve hot apple cider with cinnamon sticks.

Fall wedding favors can be homemade like fudge, candy apples, honey or jam. Another idea would be a candy buffet of all your favorite Halloween candies.

The ideas are endless and some much fun. Be creative and happy planning!

Wedding Inspirations and Ideas for Fall

These beautiful styleboards were inspired from our fave fall wedding ideas. We love the idea of infusing nature into an autumn themed wedding with pops of orange and red. Popular shades for this year are spice and cranberry. These warm tones add a cozy element and look great in photos! Add splashes of green and brown with muted yellow accents to pull the look together.

Fall Wedding Colors and Ideas

Fall weddings are becoming increasingly popular in the last few years with shades of gold, deep reds, terra cotta, chocolate brown, bronze, taupe, hunter and olive green. Fall weddings are fabulous as you can expect beautiful wedding pictures with rich warm romantic colors, especially if the leaves are falling. Cornucopias and pumpkins filled with fruits, dried corn, or even elegant fall flowers and leaves to accent your tables is sure to make you the envy of those June brides along with personalized fall colored napkins and candles for an additional warm glow. Do something either useful or tasty as a thank you favor to all your friends and family for your appreciation, such as having a piece of cake boxed to go or maybe some spiced nuts and candy corn, that will be in the colors of fall, bagged and ready to take home. Maybe add a thank you tag tied to a small pumpkin that can be used for guests’ fall favors. Another tasty treat is to give out giant caramel apples ornately decorated with a personalized ribbon with your names and wedding date. A tasty remembrance of a wonderful wedding and you can’t go wrong with that.
