Things We Love - Personalized Wedding Table Numbers

The table numbers at your wedding can be so much more than just a way to direct guests to the correct seats. Decorative table numbers can add to the ambiance of your venue and carry through the theme or décor for the evening.

While decorative table numbers are nice and can be an eye catching addition to the wedding scheme, why not utilize this space to showcase something personal to the bride and groom. Since the table numbers are sure to be seen by everyone, this is a great place to showcase something special.

Many times brides and grooms will showcase engagement pictures or memorable photos of themselves on the table numbers. I think I even recall an episode of TLC’s Four Weddings where a couple had a picture of one of their many pets on each table number! This fun addition to the table décor is a great conversation starter for guests and will get them to mingle throughout the room as they check out each unique table number.

One of the latest ideas I’ve come across in the wedding world for unique table numbers is showcasing a picture of the bride and groom on each table number with their age corresponding with the number. For example; on Table 8 there will be a picture of the bride at 8 years old and at table 15 a picture of the groom at age 15, etc. Or for each table number include pictures of both the bride and groom The more humorous the photos the better!! Your guests will get a kick out of these quirky table numbers.

Another great idea is to relate each table number to a special date or event in the bride and groom’s lives/relationship. For example Table 5 could represent the 5th day in May when the couple met. Or table 20, the day in July when the couple went on their first vacation together. The number could also represent other milestones or fun tidbits about the marrying couple like, Table 3 representing the number of pets the couple has or Table 20 represents the number of days the couple were together before they said “I love you”. Just print the facts in a smaller print under each table number. This is a great way for guests to find out more about the bride and groom!

Before the Wedding Photo Ideas That Don't Spoil the Surprise

The big reveal. The first time the groom sees his bride on the wedding day. This may be one of the most magical parts of the whole day. The anticipation, the excitement and the overwhelming flood of emotions. Whether you are traditional, superstitious or maybe just a fan of surprises, you want your hubby-to-be to wait until you walk down the aisle to see you for the first time on the wedding day.

It is becoming more and more common for couples to take most of their wedding pictures before the ceremony itself. This saves time and doesn't keep your guests waiting in between the ceremony and reception. Brides and grooms can even have a "first look". This intimate moment where the bride and groom first see each other takes place before the wedding and is captured by the photographer. Some of the most heart-felt, emotional photos may be taken at this time. While these pre-wedding pictures might be perfect for some brides, there are still a bunch of us out there that might still prefer to save the big reveal, for the moment the bride walks down the aisle to her groom. If you prefer to wait for this moment make sure that you have two photographers present, one to photograph the bride walking down the aisle and one to capture the groom's reaction.

If you are waiting to take your main wedding photos after the ceremony, there are still a few great shots that you can get in pre-wedding that won't spoil the big reveal! Once the bride and groom have gotten dressed and made up on the wedding day and shortly before the ceremony, take a few pictures of them together but without seeing each other. This can easily be accomplished by having the bride and groom stand on opposite sides of a door, room or wall. They can hold hands, pray together or blow imaginary kisses, but no peeking!

Another beautiful photo opportunity is to photograph the bride and groom before the wedding reading a love letter/ special note from the other. The photo can be taken separately of the bride and groom or together.

Whenever and however you choose to take your wedding photos they are sure to be magical and lasting memories of your special day.
