There are so many wonderful wedding themes to choose from when you start to plan your special day that it can be difficult to pick the best one to fit your style. If you are looking for something with a timeless elegance, a vintage inspired wedding might be the perfect thing. You can tie in different aspects - such as lace or a rustic touch - or you can keep to purely antique decor to create a classicaly beautiful ceremony and reception.

Mix distressed details with bright pops of color and old-fashioned items to wow your guests and create displays featuring assorted mementos to keep the conversation going. Use family heirlooms to add a personal touch to your wedding and create a day to remember for you and all of your guests. We have collected some inspiration to help you create the perfect backdrop for your big day - so make sure to scroll through this post and check out our Vintage wedding inspiration board on Pinterest.

Rustic Romance Vancouver Country Wedding

We are absolutely giddy over this wedding we are about to share with you today! With the number of weddings that cross our screens on any given day, it's the weddings like this one - featuring country charm hand in hand with luxurious and modern twists - that keep us on our toes. We cannot thank Will Pursell Photography enough for sending this gorgeous wedding our way to share with all of you!

Natalie and Braden planned a jaw-dropping rustic wedding in Vancouver, BC that is beyond perfect, from the stunning attire right down to the reception decor you will have to see to fully appreciate. We'll give you a hint - think glass bottles in all sizes filled with flowers in all shades of purple paired with hanging chandeliers and gold accents. Yeah, you're going to want to take your time looking through this stunner!

You better get scrolling - and you'll want to be sure you don't miss the doughnut table. (Yes, we said doughnut table!) And have we told you yet how much we adore this wedding?

The romantic ceremony was held at the Celebration Pavilion in Vancouver, which features a retractable glass wall allowing for a unique open-air feel and incredible outdoor view behind the bride and groom - if you think you can look away from these two!

The bride wore blue socks for her "something blue" and a peach colored stone necklace, while the groom's attire accented hers flawlessly with a peach tie to match her necklace. The bridesmaids wore beautiful gowns in different shades of purple which look amazing next to their groomsman partner wearing a custom made tie to match the dresses.

The reception took place in the beautiful Diamond Alumni Centre at Simon Fraser University, in Burnaby, BC. Perched atop Burnaby mountain, this location could not be more picture-perfect, with a beautiful panoramic view of Burrard Inlet and the North Shore mountains.

The rustic vintage styling on these dessert tables features burlap and lace along with old-fashioned cake stands. In addition to the ivory pearl and glittery gold wedding cake, guests helped themselves to Krispy Kreme donuts as they partied the night away from these extra-sweet doughnut dessert tables.

We love that the bride and groom both wore cowboy boots and with their love for country music, the burlap and lace featured throughout the reception was just the right touch. Gold Chiavari chairs and vintage-style gold framed table numbers give a modern touch while hanging chandeliers lend more of a whimsical, wander-lust feel. We are not sure how they dreamed up this wedding decor concept, but we would have to say this bride and groom have done an amazing job bringing together every single detail!

5 Head Table Wedding Decoration Ideas

The head table is the focal point of any wedding reception.  It surrounds the bride and groom and brings emphasis to the newlyweds.  Whether you decide to stay traditional with your head table decorations or go bold with a statement piece, don't leave your head table to the last decorating decision.  This is your chance to make your wedding decorations shine.  Your head table should tie together the overall theme of your wedding and set the tone of your reception.

1) Signage

A bold statement that is trending with couples.  The use of signage as a statement piece for the head table is a simple and effective way to bring attention to the newlyweds.

2) Family Style Seating

Family style seating is the ideal way to provide an intimate atmosphere for guests to mingle and make conversation.  With a family style head table, this relaxed setup also allows the bride and groom the chance to sit next to their close family members instead of just the members of the wedding party.  Be sure and seat the members of your wedding party next to their spouses or dates to ensure everyone is comfortable and relaxed.

3) Sweetheart Table

Take a breather from all the mingling and thank yous with this intimate set up.  Sweetheart tables are making a swift comeback at wedding receptions and give the bride and groom a chance to steal a few moments together alone.

4) Hanging Focal Points

Nothing screams romance and elegance more than hanging wedding decorations.  While it may not be in the budget to hang decorations above every reception table, using them just above the head table is a more affordable splurge.

5) Dressed up Chair Backs

For those sticking with a traditional head table setup, you can still set the bride and groom apart by dressing up their chairs with decorative chair backs.  This will put the focus on the newlyweds and add a personal touch to the reception decor.
